(CHICAGO, Ill.) - The 10th-ranked Carnegie Mellon University women's soccer team traveled to University Athletic Association (UAA) counterpart and No. 1 University of Chicago for an afternoon tilt on Friday, October 13. The Maroons defended their home field with a 2-0 victory. The Tartans are now 8-2-2 overall and 1-1-1 in the UAA while the Maroons sit at 13-0 and 3-0.
Freshman Carolyn Botz (St. Louis, Mo. / Micds) made six saves for the Tartans who gave up goals in the 10th minute and three minutes before the end of the first half.
Senior Katie Strycharz (Potomac Falls, Va. / Dominion) and freshman Taylor Cammarata (Cary, N.C. / Green Hope) put shots on goal for the Tartans while senior Sienna Stritter (Menlo Park, Calif. / Menlo School) was off the mark on three attempts.
The Tartans will next face second-ranked Washington University in St. Louis on Sunday, October 15 at 1:30 p.m. CT.
