Locateli Named UAA Defensive Athlete of the Week

(ROCHESTER, N.Y.) - Freshman Helena Locateli of the Carnegie Mellon University women's soccer team was named the University Athletic Association (UAA) Defensive Athlete of the Week after helping the seventh-ranked Tartans win two games in the 2022 NCAA Division III Women's Soccer Championship tournament.

Locateli earned her first two starts of the year in back-to-back NCAA tournament games and helped the defense secure two shutouts while the keepers had to face just one shot on goal. Locateli also served in the corner kick that led to the Tartans' first goal against 10th-ranked Calvin on Saturday in the second round.

The Tartans continue their season on Saturday, November 19 at 5:00 p.m. against Washington University in St. Louis. The sectional semifinal game of the NCAA tournament will be played on the home field of the Tartans.
