In her first year as a collegiate swimmer, Gillian Crews reached the NCAA Championships meet, qualifying in the 100-yard butterfly when she set the school record with a time of 56.21 at the Total Performance Invitational hosted by Kenyon College. At the NCAA Championships, Crews earned Honorable Mention All-America as part of the 200-yard medley relay (1:45.50 - school record) and the 400-yard medley relay (3:50.16 - school record). Crews finished 18th at the NCAA Championships in the 100-yard butterfly and also swam in the 50-yard freestyle and 200-yard butterfly. Crews also earned All-UAA honors when both medley relays finished third at the conference meet.
