Tartans Set Relay Record on Third Day of NCAAs

(GREENSBORO, N.C.) — The Carnegie Mellon University women's swimming and diving team competed on the third day of the 2024 NCAA Division III Championships with two appearances in the finals. The Tartans are now in 26th place with 14 points.

Top Performances

  • Sophomore Savannah Xu placed 11th in the 100-yard backstroke with a season-best time of 55.97.
  • The Tartans placed 13th in the 800-yard freestyle relay to earn eight team points. Xu, sophomore Sophie Elliott, junior Abigael O'Donnell, and sophomore Eliana Szabo broke the school record, finishing in a time of 7:33.63.

The Tartans will compete in the fourth and final day of the NCAA Championships on Saturday, March 23 beginning at 10 a.m. with prelims and closing at 6 p.m. with the finals' heats.
