Cecil and Tam Lead Tartans on All-UAA Squad

(ROCHESTER, N.Y.) – Sophomore Katie Cecil (Huntington Beach, Calif./Ocean View) and senior Cze-Ja Tam (Palos Verdes, Calif./Palos Verdes Peninsula) of the Carnegie Mellon University women's tennis team were honored by the University Athletic Association's (UAA) coaches on the All-UAA team for the 2012 season. The pair earned a spot on the second team at third doubles.

During the UAA Championships from April 27-29, Cecil and Tam won two matches including an 8-2 victory over Case Western Reserve University and an 8-1 victory against #11 Washington University as the Tartans finished fourth. It was the first time Cecil and Tam paired up during the season.

Cecil earns All-UAA recognition for the first time in her first season as a Tartan while Tam earns the award for the second time. Tam's first award came as a freshman at sixth singles where she earned first team honors.
