#6 Tartans Invited to NCAA Division III Championships

(INDIANAPOLIS, Ind.) – The Carnegie Mellon University women's tennis team will play for the 2012 NCAA Championship as they travel to DePauw University for a regional event on May 10-12. The team earned the bid after finishing the regular season with a national ranking of six.

The Tartans (16-5) will play the winner of the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association champion Hope College (18-7) and the Iowa Intercollegiate Athletic Conference champion Coe College (21-3) on Friday, May 11 at 2:00 p.m. DePauw (17-6), ranked eighth nationally, will play the winner of Wheaton (Ill.) College (19-2) and Webster University (19-2) Friday at 10:00 a.m. Wheaton won the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin while Webster was the champion of the St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference.

The regional championship will be played on Sunday at 10:00 a.m. with the winners of the eight regionals to play for the national championship on Tuesday, May 21 through Thursday, May 23 in Cary, North Carolina.
