Four Women’s Tennis Players Named All-UAA

(ROCHESTER, N.Y.) – Four Carnegie Mellon University women's tennis players found a spot on the University Athletic Association (UAA) team following their performances at the Association Championship this past weekend.  The Tartans placed two singles players and a doubles tandem on the second team following their second-place finish at the championships.

Junior Katie Cecil (Huntington Beach, Calif./Ocean View) was honored at No. 1 singles, freshman Elizabeth Martin (St. Simons Island, Ga./Frederica Academy) received the accolade at No. 3 singles while the duo of sophomore Bryn Raschke (Del Mar, Calif./Torrey Pines) and freshman Brooke Tsu (Hillsborough, Calif./Burlingame) were named at No. 2 doubles.

Cecil had a regular season overall record of 14-6 in singles and was a combined 14-7 in doubles play.  She ended the season with a 2-1 mark at the UAA Championships.  Martin also collected a 2-1 mark during UAA play and ended the season with an overall singles record of 14-12.  Raschke and Tsu put together a 2-1 record last weekend while ending the season with a record of 5-1.

This marks the second straight season Cecil was honored on the All-UAA squad.  Last season she garnered a spot on the second team at No. 3 doubles.
