Selenica Lands Spot on All-UAA Women’s Tennis Squad

(ROCHESTER, N.Y.) – Carnegie Mellon University freshman Marina Selenica (Birmingham, Mich./Detroit Country Day School) of the women's tennis team found a spot on the All-University Athletic Association (UAA) team. Selenica was selected to the second-team at No. 6 singles following her performance at the Association Championship this past weekend.
    
Selenica recorded a 2-1 mark at No. 6 singles including a straight set victory over Kat Stevanovich of the University of Chicago in the third-place team match. The first-year athlete also defeated Maya Vasser of Brandeis University in three sets during the Tartans' opening round match.  

Selenica ended the regular season with a 10-2 mark in singles play, as she and the rest of the team awaits to see if they are selected to compete for the NCAA Championship. Bids for the national tournament will be released on May 9 with the tournament to begin on campus sites May 12 or 13.
