Taylor and Zhou Honored by UAA

(ROCHESTER, N.Y.) – Carnegie Mellon University junior Danna Taylor (Orlando, Fla. / Circle Christian School) and sophomore Crystal Zhou (Austin, Texas / LASA) were named University Athletic Association (UAA) Women's Tennis Athletes of the Week for her performance at the ITA Southeast Regional Tournament hosted by the University of Mary Washington in Fredericksburg, Virginia.

Taylor and Zhou won the ITA Southeast Regional Doubles Championship over the weekend, marking the fifth straight year of ITA Regional competition the Tartans won the doubles championship. For Taylor, it is her third regional doubles title. In the championship match against Lauren Long and Margaret Carlton of Washington and Lee University, the tandem dropped the first set 7-5 before forcing a super tiebreaker after winning 6-2 in the second. Taylor and Zhou then took set three 10-8 to claim the title.

The Tartans will host an invitational this weekend, September 30 and October 1.
