Taylor Honored by UAA

(ROCHESTER, N.Y.) – Carnegie Mellon University junior Danna Taylor was named University Athletic Association (UAA) Women's Tennis Athletes of the Week for her performance over the weekend against Division I foe Duquesne University and Division II opponent Slippery Rock University.

Taylor started her spring season with a pair of singles wins with the first coming over Natasha Novak of Duquesne 6-3, 4-6, 1-0 (10-5) at the third spot on Friday night. She then returned to the court on Saturday to down Adriana Gonzalez Sanchez 6-3, 6-2 at the second singles. The junior also picked up a win at number doubles when she teamed with Crystal Zhou for a 6-3 win over Gonzalez Sanchez and Teddi Isherwood of Slippery Rock. The Tartan tandem is now 11-4 while Taylor is 6-3 in singles play.

The Tartans will travel to Oberlin, Ohio, for a 10:00 a.m. match against the Yeowomen on Saturday, February 11.
