ITA Honors Women’s Tennis as All-Academic Team; Five Named Scholar Athletes

(TEMPE, Ariz.) – The Carnegie Mellon University women's tennis team was honored for the 14th straight season and 21st time in the last 22 years by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) as an ITA All-Academic Team. In addition, five players were named ITA Scholar Athletes.

The ITA All-Academic Team award is open to any ITA program with a cumulative team grade point average of 3.20 or above during the last academic year. The women's team achieved a cumulative average of 3.40 for the year.

In addition to the team honor, senior Megan Qiang, sophomores Zoe Angell, Sarah Yang and Crystal Zhou, along with first-year athlete Anika Joshi were honored as ITA Scholar Athletes.

In order to be eligible to be an ITA Scholar-Athlete, a player must have an academic year GPA of at least 3.50 and be listed on the institutional eligibility form.
