(NEW ORLEANS, La.) – The U.S. Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) announced the women's 2012 Division III All-Academic Track & Field Teams and Carnegie Mellon University was included on the list. A total of 137 institutions earned the distinction as a result of a cumulative team GPA of 3.1 or better.

The women's track and field team achieved a team GPA of 3.28 for the 2011-2012 school year to earn a place on the All-Academic team.

In addition to the team earning the award, sophomore Jacqueline Guevel (Dallas, Texas/The Hockaday School) was named to the team individually. Guevel qualified for the award by achieving a cumulative GPA of 3.30 or better and competing at the NCAA Indoor Championship. Guevel did more than compete at the indoor championship, as she placed fourth in the 60-meter hurdles to earn her third All-America honor. The sophomore civil engineering major with a 3.37 GPA also qualified for the outdoor championship in both the 100-meter hurdles and 400-meter hurdles but was unable to perform due to injury.
