Noneman Named Division III National Athlete of the Week

(ROCHESTER, N.Y.) – Graduate student Kendra Noneman (Eagle, Idaho / Eagle) of the Carnegie Mellon University women's outdoor track and field team was named Division III National Athlete of the Week as selected and presented by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA). Noneman receives the honor for field events following her performance at the Washington and Lee Track and Field Carnival over the weekend. The graduate student also was named University Athletic Association (UAA) Athlete of the Week.

Competing in her first outdoor meet of the season, Noneman won the hammer throw, as she shattered the school record with a throw of 55.42 meters. The previous school record throw was 47.27 meters by Kiersten Chuc in 2017. She currently ranks tops in the nation with her mark on Saturday.

The mark was Noneman's second-best season-opening of her career with the first coming at the 2019 NNU Invitational & Multis at 56.29 meters while a member of Boise State's team. Noneman becomes the first Tartan to receive the accolade for the outdoor season.

Next up for the Tartans is their home invitational on Friday and Saturday, March 25-26. Events kickoff on Friday afternoon at 3:30 p.m.
