Barre Places Third in High Jump at NCAA Indoor Championships

(VIRGINIA BEACH, Va.) – Graduate student Liz Barre of the Carnegie Mellon University women's indoor track and field team became an All-American in the high jump for the second straight season at the 2024 NCAA Division III Indoor Track and Field Championships on Saturday. The championships are being held at the Virginia Beach Sports Center in Virginia Beach, Virginia.

Barre cleared the bar at a school record height of 1.74 meters to place third, breaking her previous height of 1.71 meters. She now has compiled 11 team points for the Tartans at the championships after placing fourth a day ago in the pentathlon. Barre has earned two All-American honors in back-to-back seasons at the indoor championships and has five for her career (three pentathlon and two high jump), the most in program history at the indoor championships.
