Barre Wins 100-Meter Hurdles at West Virginia Stan Romanoski Open as Tartans Start Outdoor Season

(MORGANTOWN, W.Va.) – The Carnegie Mellon University's women outdoor track and field team opened its outdoor season at the West Virginia Stan Romanoski Open on Friday and Saturday.

Top Performances:

  • Graduate student Liz Barre won the 100-meter hurdles with a time of 14.75. She then took fourth in the 400-meter race crossing in 1:01.62.
  • Sophomore Zoe King ran a personal-best time of 1:03.47 in the 400-meter race placing 14th.
  • Sophomore Shanaya Irani crossed in a personal-best time of 13.39 in the 100-meter dash.
  • Senior JoJo Huczko placed third in the pole vault clearing the bar at 3.35 meters while graduate student Emily DeAugustino cleared the bar at 2.60 meters in placed ninth.
  • Junior Taylor Symonette took eighth in the shot put with a throw of 11.27 meters.
