Bio

Lauren London-Law's impact on the Tartan volleyball program for her four seasons as the asssistant coach have been profound as she helped lead the team to four postseason appearances and 102 total wins. The 2016 season was the second time London-Law helped lead the Tartans to the NCAA tournament and was the first time in program history that more than one player earned AVCA All-America honors when three were honorable mention selections.

London-Law became the first full-time assistant volleyball coach in program history in 2013. Her practice and game preparation helped the Tartans defeat two nationally ranked opponents, finish third in the University Athletic Association (UAA) and return to the NCAA Championship tournament that same year.

In addition to mentoring three All-Americans in 2016, London-Law helped the Tartans enter the national rankings in week one, remain in the rankings all season, and climb to the program's highest-ever ranking of 14th during the year. The Tartans also finished second in the UAA Championship for the third time in program history, defeating Chicago who was previously unbeaten in the UAA for the season.

The 2015 season witnessed the Tartans post the second most wins (29) in school history and the most wins under head coach Kim Kelly. The Tartans climbed into the national rankings for the first time since the 2004 season and were ranked has high as 20th throughout the season. The team had two members named AVCA All-Region with one, junior middle blocker Jackie Gibbons, garnering All-America status. Junior libero Molly Higgins was named ECAC Division III South Defensive Player of the Year while two others were honored as ECAC All-Stars.

In 2014, the team finished fourth in the UAA with six members earning All-UAA recognition, the most in program history. Along with that, freshman outside hitter Heather Holton, who London-Law mentored, was named UAA Rookie of the Year and received AVCA All-Region honors.

London-Law's first season saw the team finish with a 25-10 record with two players reaching the 1,000-kill plateau. Junior Ali Celentano also received AVCA All-Region recognition for the second time.

In 2014, London-Law attended the NCAA Women Coaches Academy.

London-Law came to Carnegie Mellon after spending a year as an assistant at Denison University where the Big Red recorded their best season in 10 years finishing with a 21-10 record in 2012 and a fourth-place finish in North Coast Athletic Conference (NCAC) play while three players where named All-NCAC.

London-Law is a 2010 Magna Cum Laude graduate of Hiram College where she earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in political science and a minor in history. She earned her master’s degree from the University of Pittsburgh’s Graduate School of Public and International Affairs (GSPIA) in 2012.

While at Hiram, London-Law was a four-year letterwinner and senior captain for the Terriers.  She was part of two NCAA Tournament teams and a member of the school’s first-ever NCAC Tournament Championship squad in 2006.  That same season, the team set a school record with 33 victories. In four years as a Terrier, the team compiled a 103-38 record with 51 wins in conference play. London-Law was a four-year member of the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee and served as the SAAC President, Vice President and Secretary throughout her college career at Hiram.  

Besides her coaching responsibilities at Carnegie Mellon, she is a staff liason for SAAC, developed and spearheads the Student-Athlete Academic Achievement Celebration, and assists in the department’s intramural program.
