Wobb Finishes Second at UAA Championships

(CHICAGO, Ill.) – Junior Emily Wobb (Gibsonia, Pa./Pine Richland) led the Carnegie Mellon University women's cross country team to a sixth-place finish at the University Athletic Association (UAA) Championships on Saturday, October 29. The University of Chicago served as the host at Montrose Harbor where Washington University in St. Louis won the event

Wobb finished the 6k race second to earn All-UAA First Team honors in a time fo 22:16.97.

Junior Eva Humphrey (Asheville, N.C./Asheville) was second to finish for the Tartans as she crossed the line 49th overall in 24:35.60. Sophomore Catherine Paquette (Bethel, Ohio/Archbishop McNicholas) wasn't far behind as she crossed 51st in 24:44.91. Freshman Erin Kiekhaefer (Palo Alto, Calif./Palo Alto) was 52nd in 24:49.56.

Senior Cassie Wallace (Uniontown, Pa./Laurel Highlands) was the next to finish for the Tartans as she did in 56th place in 25:01.27. Freshman Halley Bayer (Pittsburgh, Pa./North Allegheny) finished the race in 25:34.25 for 64th place while senior Lauren Sittler (Sewickley, Pa./Ambridge) was the seventh Tartan to finish in 25:42.93 for 66th place.

The Tartans will next compete again on Saturday, November 12, at the Mideast Regional hosted by DeSales College in Center Valley, Pa. The race is set to begin at 11:00 a.m.
