Wobb Earns All-America at NCAA Division III Women's Cross Country Championships

(WINNECONNE, Wis.) – Junior Emily Wobb (Gibsonia, Pa./Pine-Richland) of the Carnegie Mellon University women's cross country team ran at the 2011 NCAA Division III Championships, Saturday, November 19 held at the at Lake Breeze Golf Course in Winneconne, Wisconsin hosted by the University Wisconsin-Oshkosh.  The junior earned All-America honors after finishing 16th.

Wobb finished the 6k course in a time of 21:25.64 among the field of 277 runners. This marks her third straight year running at the championships, as she has bettered her placement each season. Her first season, Wobb placed 120th before finishing 62nd overall a year ago.

Wobb becomes the first female Tartan to earn All-America since the 1998 season, when Margaret Powers and Maureen McGranaghan both earned the honor.  Powers finished seventh while McGranaghan was 22nd.
