Tartans Finish Fourth at Lock Haven Amoungst Division II Schools
(LOCK HAVEN, Pa.) – The Carnegie Mellon University women's
cross country team finished fourth at the Lock Haven University
River Run Invite on Saturday, September 22. The team had one top 10
finisher as it competed against 11 teams including seven Division
II institutions.
Freshman Rekha
Schnepf (McLean, Va./Thomas Jefferson HS for Sci &
Tech) was the top finisher for the Tartans as she crossed in eighth
place in 23:14. The was the second time Schnepf was the top
finisher for the Tartans and her first top 10 finish.
Behind Schnepf for Carnegie Mellon was senior Eva
Humphrey (Asheville, N.C./Asheville) in 23rd place.
She finished the 6K race in 23:50. Sophomore Halley
Bayer (Pittsburgh, Pa./North Allegheny) was third for
the Tartans and 28th overall in 24:07.9 as junior Elise
Hall (Hillsboro, Mo./Hillsboro Senior) came in 30th in
24:10.2.
Freshman Taylor
Maggiacomo (Temecula, Calif./Great Oak) placed fifth
for the Tartans and was 33rd overall in a time of 24:13.0 while
classmate Sophia
Greene (Indianapolis, Ind./Pike) came in 46th place in
a time of 24:44.1.
Rounding out the top seven finishers for the Tartans was junior
Catherine
Paquette (Bethel, Ohio/Archbishop McNicholas) in 52nd
place in 24:56.2.
The team will have a weekend off from competition before they host
the Carnegie Mellon Invite on Saturday, October 6 at 1:00 p.m. in
Schenley Park.
