Tartans Place Seventh at Regional Meet

(ALLENTOWN, Pa.) – The Carnegie Mellon University women's cross country team finished seventh at the 2013 Mideast Regional on Saturday, November 16, at Lehigh University in Allentown, Pa. Sophomore Rekha Schnepf (McLean, Va./Thomas Jefferson HS for Sci. & Tech) crossed the line 25th overall as the first finisher for the Tartans.

Johns Hopkins University won the race while Lebanon Valley's Kelsey Patrick crossed first with a time of 21:00, a full ten seconds ahead of second place.

Sophomore Priya Patel (Piscataway, N.J./Piscataway) was second to finish the race for the Tartans, finishing in 47th place with a tie of 22:48.  Senior Catherine Paquette (Bethel, Ohio/Archbishop McNicholas) was third to cross the finish line for the Tartans in 50th place in 22:51.

Freshman Emily Joyce (Carlisle, Pa./Big Spring) was 75th overall in 23:18 and junior Haley Brown (Colorado Springs, Colo./Palmer) was 80th overall in 23:22. Following Brown was sophomore Erin Kiekhaefer (Palo Alto, Calif./Palo Alto) in 23:32 (93rd) and sophomore Haley Bryant (Colorado Springs, Colo./Palmer) in 97th in a time of 23:36.
