Tartans Take Eighth at Inter-Regional Rumble

(OBERLIN, Ohio) - The Carnegie Mellon University women's cross country team raced at the Oberlin College Inter-Regional Rumble Saturday morning, finishing eighth in a field of 40. Junior Liz Snyder (Somerset, Pa./Somerset) was the top Tartan finisher as she finished 17th overall.

Snyder finished the 6k course in a time of 22:48.9 to lead the Tartans for the fourth straight week. Following her was junior Erin Kiekhaefer (Palo Alto, Calif./Palo Alto) in 33rd place in a time of 23:14.0.

Sophomore Haley Bryant (Colorado Springs, Colo./Palmer) was the third Tartan to cross the finish line as she did so in 23:42.10 for 59th place.

Senior Halley Bayer (Pittsburgh, Pa./North Allegheny) and junior Zofia Tillman (Westminster, Colo./Standley Lake) finished together in 76th and 77th place with times of 23:59.2 and 24:00.5, respectively.

The sixth and seventh Tartans to cross the finish line was sophomore Priya Patel (Piscataway, N.J./Piscataway) in 24:11.6 for 90th place and junior Hailey Brown (Wellsville, N.Y./Wellsville) in 24:13.6 for 93rd place.

The Tartans will race again at the University Athletic Association Championships on Saturday, November 1 at Washington University in St. Louis, Missouri.
