Tartans Compete at Dickinson College Long-Short Invitational

(CARLISLE, Pa.) – Carnegie Mellon University women's cross country team competed at the Dickinson College Long-Short Invitational on Saturday, September 26. The Tartans had runners compete in both the 6k and 4k races. Only individual results are available as team scores were not posted.  

In the 6k race, Sophomore Aparna Alavilli (Hanover, N.H.) led the Tartans with a seventh-place finish as she crossed in 23:03.94.  Senior Rekha Schnepf (McLean, Va./Thomas Jefferson HS for Sci. & Tech) finished two spots behind Alavilli with a time of 23:12.63.

Seniors Taylor Maggiacomo (Temecula, Calif./Great Oak) and Kira Ragazzo (Frederick, Md./Urbana) were the third and fourth finishers for the Tartans as they crossed in 24:08.94 and 24:36.23, respectively.

The top three finishers for the Tartans in the 4k race were senior Haley Bryant (Colorado Springs, Colo./Palmer), freshman Allison Scibisz (Hampton, N.H./Winnacunnet and freshman Alice Duan (Torrance, Calif./West). Bryany crossed with a time of 15:22.32 while Scibisc and Duan were separated by a little more than three seconds with times of 15:34.50 and 15:37.70.

The Tartans will now have two weeks off from racing before hosting their own invitational on Saturday, October 10, at 10:00 a.m.
