Murphy Garners UAA Women’s Basketball Weekly Honor

(ROCHESTER, N.Y.) - Carnegie Mellon University junior Lisa Murphy (McLean, Va./McLean) was named University Athletic Association (UAA) Women's Basketball Athlete of the Week for her performance in the Tartans' 95-63 win over Washington & Jefferson College to open the season. 

Murphy became the 10th women's basketball player in school history to surpass 1,000 career points.  In the win, Murphy tabbed 33 points and grabbed 11 rebounds in 26 minutes played to record her 26th career double-double.  The junior also added five assists and two blocked shots.

The Tartans return to action on Friday, November 20 against Muskingum University at the Allegheny College Tip-Off Tournament at 4:00 p.m.
