Bio

Megan Yawman's coaching career with the Carnegie Mellon University women's basketball team began in July 2023. Yawman joined head coach Jacquie Hullah's staff as a full-time assistant coach following her career as a two-year starter on the Ithaca College women’s basketball team.

Yawman completed her playing career as a graduate student in 2022 for the Bombers and played in four NCAA tournaments with the 2019 squad reaching the Elite 8. Following graduation with a master’s in sport psychology, Yawman began her coaching career at Fairport High School in her hometown of Fairport, New York.

As the varsity girls basketball assistant coach at Fairport, Yawman assisted with daily operations, including practice and game planning, helped implement end-of-game plays, and worked on film review sessions. Yawman also coached each summer since 2014 as a counselor for the boys and girls skills camps at Fairport.

Yawman’s coaching experience also includes working with a USA Basketball Coach during NBA client workouts, one-on-one basketball skills training with private clients, and coaching the Western NYU Shock AAU Girls Basketball Team since March.

A point guard for Ithaca from 2017 to 2022, Yawman played an integral role in four regular season championships and three Liberty League tournament championships. In her final season, the Bombers set a program record of 20 consecutive wins. Yawman earned her bachelor’s degree in business administration with a sport management concentration and a minor in coaching in 2021 before taking advantage of the extra playing season allowed due to COVID to earn her master’s degree.
