NATIONAL CHAMPIONS! Women’s Golf Wins First NCAA Team Title

The Carnegie Mellon University women's golf team made history on Friday afternoon, winning the first NCAA Division III Championship for any women’s program in university history. The Tartans turned in a final round of eight-over par 296 to finish play with a 14-stroke advantage at the 2024 NCAA Division III Championships in Nicholasville, Kentucky. The Tartans carded a 72-hole score of 1,187 (298-299-294-296) to become national champions!

The Carnegie Mellon University women's golf team finished its suspended second round of play on Thursday of the 2024 NCAA Division III Championship in Nicholasville, Kentucky, with a 299 and then carded a 294 in round three. The Tartans have a 54-hole score of 891 (298-299-294) and currently sit atop the leaderboard by two strokes heading into the final round on Friday. Following the second round, the field was cut to the top 15 teams and top six individuals not on one of those teams to compete in the final two rounds.

The Carnegie Mellon University women's golf team competed in the second round of the 2024 NCAA Division III Championship on Wednesday in Nicholasville, Kentucky. Multiple stoppages because of inclement weather forced play to be stopped due to darkness on Wednesday. The Tartans had completed holes 10 through 12 when play was halted and their current round score in round two was nine-over par. The Tartans have an overall score of +19 and are currently in second. Emory University leads the field with a +16 and was also stopped on the same holes played as the Tartans.

The Carnegie Mellon University women's golf team opened play in the first round of the 2024 NCAA Division III Championship on Tuesday in Nicholasville, Kentucky. The Tartans carded a team score of 298 and are currently in second.

Freshman Samantha Wang of the Carnegie Mellon University women’s golf team along with Dan Rodgers, head coach of the Tartans, have been recognized nationally by the Women's Golf Coaches Association (WGCA). On Monday evening, Wang was named the Division III WGCA Freshman of the Year Presented by StrackaLine and Rodgers was named the Division III Jackie Steinmann WGCA National Coach of the Year Presented by Golf Pride.

For the fifth straight season, multiple members of the Carnegie Mellon University women's golf team earned All-America honors from the Women's Golf Coaches Association (WGCA) with another earning regional recognition.

The Carnegie Mellon University women's golf team had five athletes honored by the University Athletic Association’s (UAA) coaches on the All-UAA team when the awards were announced. Headlining the squad for the Tartans is freshman Samantha Wang who was named UAA Rookie of the Year and also to the first team. Joining Wang on the to team are graduate student Alexis Sudjianto and junior sophomores Sriya Mupparaju. Junior Kaylin Yeoh and freshman Nikita Jadhav were named to the second team.

The Carnegie Mellon University women's golf team has been selected to compete in the 2024 NCAA Division III Women's Golf Championships. This year’s championships will be held May 21-24, in in Nicholasville, Kentucky at the Keene Trace Golf Club. Transylvania University will be hosting the four-day event.

The Carnegie Mellon University women's golf team competed in the final round of the Capitol Hill Classic on Tuesday in Prattville, Alabama. Inclement weather forced the final round to nine holes for a total of a 27-hole event. The Tartans carded a team score of six-under par 138 over the final nine holes to win the 27-hole event with a score of 443 (+11).
