Li and Cornwall Named CoSIDA Academic All-Americans

Senior Jason Li (Sewickley, Pa./Sewickley Academy) and junior Lindy Cornwall (Poway, Calif./Poway) have been named to the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) Academic All-America At-Large Teams. Li was honored on the men’s first team while Cornwall earned recognition on the women’s third team.
ITA Honors Women’s Tennis as All-Academic Team; 12 Named Scholar Athletes

The Carnegie Mellon University women's tennis team was honored for the 12th straight season and 19th time in the last 20 years by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) as an ITA All-Academic Team. In addition, 12 players were named ITA Scholar Athletes.
Four Earn CoSIDA Academic All-District At-Large Awards

Four Carnegie Mellon University athletes were honored by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) as At-Large Academic All-District selections. Two golfers were selected to the men's team, senior Jason Li (Sewickley, Pa./Sewickley Academy) and junior William Knauth (Williamsport, Pa./Williamsport Area), while junior Lindy Cornwall (Poway, Calif. / Poway) from tennis and sophomore Michelle Cao (Johns Creek, Ga./Northview) from golf were selected to the women's team. The honor is the first for each of the four.
Cornwall and Zheng Earn ITA All-America Recognition; Final Rankings Released

Junior Lindy Cornwall (Poway, Calif. / Poway) and sophomore Bin Zheng (Miami, Fla. / Doral Academy) of the Carnegie Mellon University women’s tennis team earned 2021 Division III Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) All-America status when the association released the winners along with the final team and individual rankings this month. The honor marks the first for both athletes, as Cornwall earns the distinction at both singles and doubles.

The doubles pair of junior Lindy Cornwall (Poway, Calif. / Poway) and sophomore Bin Zheng (Miami, Fla. / Doral Academy) defeated the number two seed in the round of 16 at the NCAA Division III Women's Tennis Singles and Doubles Championships on Friday, May 28. The Carnegie Mellon University duo become the first doubles pair to win their first round match since the 2011-2012 season.
Cornwall, Zheng Invited to NCAA Women's Individual Championships

Junior Lindy Cornwall (Poway, Calif. / Poway) and sophomore Bin Zheng (Miami, Fla. / Doral Academy) have been selected to play for the NCAA Division III Women's Individual Championships to be held in Chattanooga, Tennessee, from Friday, May 28 through Sunday, May 30. Cornwall was selected to the singles bracket and will also pair with Zheng in the doubles bracket.
Tartans Close Season in Third Round of NCAA Tournament

The Carnegie Mellon University women's tennis team dropped a tightly contested NCAA third round match against the University of Mary Washington, 5-3, on Sunday afternoon in Rocky Mount, North Carolina. The Tartans finish the season with a 13-3 record while the Eagles move on with a 14-2 record.

The Carnegie Mellon University women's tennis team topped host North Carolina Wesleyan College, 5-1, in the second round of the 2021 NCAA Division III Women's Tennis Championship on Saturday, May 15. The Tartans are now 13-2 for the season while the Bishops finish at 10-7.
Women’s Tennis Selected to Play for NCAA Championship

The Carnegie Mellon University women's tennis team will compete for the 2021 NCAA Division III Women's Tennis Championship after compiling a regular season record of 12-2. The Tartans will travel to Rocky Mount, North Carolina, for the first, second and third rounds and will open play in the second round against host North Carolina Wesleyan College on Friday, May 14.

The fifth-ranked Carnegie Mellon University women's tennis played University Athletic Association foe and 25th-ranked Case Western Reserve University on Friday afternoon at Avalon Golf & Country Club in Vienna, Ohio. The Tartans improved to 12-2 with a 6-1 win over the Spartans. Case Western Reserve is now 4-1.
#5 Tartans Fall in Marathon Match with #12 Kenyon, 5-4

The fifth-ranked Carnegie Mellon University women's tennis team hosted 12th-ranked Kenyon College for its final match of the regular season on Sunday, May 2. Playing on three courts, the Ladies of Kenyon pulled off a 5-4 win after more than seven hours of action to remain undefeated at 7-0 while the Tartans finish at 11-2.
#5 Tartans Winning Streak Stops at #24 Denison

The Carnegie Mellon University women's tennis team, ranked fifth in the nation, traveled to regional rival Denison University on Saturday, April 24. The Big Red, ranked 24th, swept doubles action on its way to giving the Tartans their first loss of the season with a 7-2 score. The Tartans are now11-1 while the Big Red move to 7-3.
#5 Tartans Record Seventh Shutout with Win at Westminster

The fifth-ranked Carnegie Mellon University women's tennis traveled to New Wilmington on Tuesday afternoon and defeated Westminster College 9-0 to record the seventh shutout of the season. The Tartans stay unbeaten and move to 11-0 while the Titans drop their first match of the season and are 4-1 overall.

The Carnegie Mellon University women’s tennis, ranked fifth in Division III, headed to Meadville, Pennsylvania, on Saturday and took down the Gators of Allegheny College 9-0. The win keeps the Tartans record perfect at 10-0.
