Cornwall Receives NCAA Postgraduate Scholarship

Recent graduate Lindy Cornwall (Poway, Calif./Poway) of the Carnegie Mellon University women's tennis and women's track and field teams has been awarded an NCAA Postgraduate Scholarship. Cornwall will receive a one-time, nonrenewable grant of $10,000 to be used for part-time or full-time postgraduate study at a university or professional school. Cornwall will continue her educational pursuits at Carnegie Mellon, as she is enrolled in the master's program for mechanical engineering.
ITA Honors Women’s Tennis as All-Academic Team; Nine Named Scholar Athletes

The Carnegie Mellon University women's tennis team was honored for the 13th straight season and 20th time in the last 21 years by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) as an ITA All-Academic Team. In addition, nine players were named ITA Scholar Athletes.
Cornwall Repeats as CoSIDA Academic All-American

Carnegie Mellon University women’s tennis senior Lindy Cornwall (Poway, Calif./Poway) earned a repeat selection to the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) Academic All-America Women’s At-Large Team. Cornwall was honored on the first team this year after being a third-team selection last year.
Cornwall Named ITA Most Improved Senior; All-Americans Announced

Senior Lindy Cornwall (Poway, Calif. / Poway) was honored as the Division III Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Atlantic South Most Improved Senior and garnered All-America honors for the second straight season, joining four others on the ITA All-America Team for 2022.
Yang Ends Year in Round of 16 of NCAA Singles Championship

Carnegie Mellon University women's tennis freshman Sarah Yang (Alpharetta, Ga. / Northview) earned All-America honors at the 2022 NCAA Division III Women's Tennis Singles Championship by advancing to the Round of 16. The championships are being held at the USTA National Campus in Orlando, Florida.

Carnegie Mellon University freshman Sarah Yang (Alpharetta, Ga. / Northview) has been selected to play for the 2022 NCAA Division III Women's Singles Championship to be held in Orlando, Florida, at the USTA National Campus from Friday, May 27 through Sunday, May 29. Yang’s selection marks the 16th time at least one Tartan has been selected to the singles bracket, and fifth freshman, under head coach Andrew Girard since the 2004-05 season.
Cornwall Receives Second CoSIDA Academic All-District Award

Five Women Selected to UAA Women’s Tennis All-Association Team

Five Carnegie Mellon University women's tennis players were selected to the 2022 University Athletic Association (UAA) Women’s Tennis All-Association team. The Tartans finished third at the UAA Championship and completed the season after reaching the third round of the NCAA Division III Women’s Tennis Championship with a 16-7 record.

No. 11 Women’s Tennis Selected to Host NCAA Opening Rounds

The Carnegie Mellon University women's tennis team has been selected to compete for the 2022 NCAA Division III Women's Tennis Championship and will have the honor of hosting the first, second, and third rounds of competition. The appearance in the postseason event will be the 16th for the program, all coming under head coach Andrew Girard. The Tartans will host action on Thursday, May 12 through Saturday, May 14 with five teams traveling to Pittsburgh.

The Tartans dropped a 5-4 decision and are now 14-6 on the season and will face 12th-ranked Case Western Reserve University on Sunday in the third-place match.

The 11th-ranked Carnegie Mellon University women's tennis team opened University Athletic Association (UAA) play on Friday at Sanlando Park in Altamonte Springs, Florida, with a 5-1 win over NYU. The Tartans move to 14-5 overall while the Violets are now 3-4. This marks the 17th consecutive trip for the Tartans to the semifinals of the UAA Championships.

The Carnegie Mellon University women's tennis team, ranked 11th in the latest Division III ITA Collegiate Tennis Rankings, hosted 12th-ranked and University Athletic Association (UAA) foe Case Western Reserve University on Saturday afternoon. Due to inclement weather the match was moved indoors to the Oxford Athletic Club in Wexford, Pennsylvania. The Tartans improve to 13-5 with a 7-2 victory over the Spartans, who are now 15-2.
