Bio

The start of the 2023-24 athletic year marks Adam Hindes’ 14th year at Carnegie Mellon as the Director of Sports Medicine.

Hindes is the athletic trainer for the football, men's and women's golf, and men's and women's track and field teams.

Originally from Pittsburgh, Adam worked for Atrium Medical Center in Madison, Ohio for two years prior to joining the Tartan staff. While with Atrium, he was the strength and conditioning coach and athletic trainer for Mason High School.

Hindes received his undergraduate degree from the University of Pittsburgh in 1996, in health, physical and recreation education, athletic training. After completing his degree, Hindes continued his education at Ohio University, earning his master’s in physical education, athletic training in 1997.

Following his master’s studies, Adam worked for Allegheny Valley Hospital as the head athletic trainer and strength and conditioning coach for Highlands High School before moving on to the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center. While with UPMC, he had the opportunity to work with the Pittsburgh Steelers and was the head athletic trainer at La Roche College.

Hindes is a member of the National Athletic Trainers’ Association, Ohio Athletic Trainers’ Association, Great Lakes Athletic Trainers’ Association, National Strength and Conditioning Association and Pennsylvania Athletic Trainers’ Society.
