Bio

The Carnegie Mellon University Department of Athletics has hired Terrence Stanton to be the Tartans’ Coordinator of Events and Facilities. Stanton will play a lead role in the successful execution of home contests for several varsity sports, coordination of day-to-day operations and maintenance needs of athletic facilities, as well as develop and implement a promotional strategy for varsity athletics.

Stanton comes to Carnegie Mellon after completing his master’s degree in business administration with a concentration in project management in 2021 from Seton Hill University in Greensburg, Pennsylvania. While obtaining his degree, Stanton worked as an assistant football coach and was responsible for mentoring student-athletes, recruiting, directing and coordinating campus visits, and executing game-day management and operations. Stanton held a similar role at Ohio Northern University for a year following his graduation from the University of Mount Union.

Stanton was a member of the 2015 and 2017 NCAA Division III National Champion teams for the Raiders and graduated with a degree in sport business, with a minor in business administration and coaching. While at Mount Union, Stanton created the Dancing with the Raiders program while also participating with Raider Buddies and Relay for Life.

As a student-athlete, Stanton worked as an athletic department intern for two years, providing administrative support for recruiting, training and fundraising while reporting to the director of athletics, sports information director and football coaching staff. Stanton also assisted in the planning and coordination of clinics, banquets and overnight camps.

Stanton is familiar with the Carnegie Mellon campus as he played high school football in Gesling Stadium as a member of the Pittsburgh Central Catholic football team.
