68 Carnegie Mellon Student-Athletes Earn Fall Academic Honors

(ROCHESTER, N.Y.) – A total of 68 Carnegie Mellon University student-athletes were named to the University Athletic Association’s (UAA) All-Academic Recognition list for the fall sports teams, as announced Thursday, October 17.

All-Academic Recognition is awarded to student-athletes who have completed at least one full year of college study and who carry a minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.300. The fall academic honor roll includes 631 student-athletes representing teams participating in the two men’s and three women’s fall sports for which the UAA sponsors competition. The honored recipients represent approximately 84 percent of the total eligible UAA student-athletes.

The UAA Presidents Council established a program of All-Academic recognition in April 1998. Qualifying student-athletes are recognized at the completion of the fall, winter, and spring seasons each year. The honor is intended to recognize the high level of academic achievement demonstrated by student-athletes who effectively balance their significant commitment of time, effort, and energy in athletic endeavors with their highly challenging academic responsibilities.

Among the 68 Carnegie Mellon student-athletes to earn the honor this fall, 20 are from the men's soccer team, 17 from the women's soccer team, 14 from the men's cross country team, nine from the women's cross country team, and eight from the volleyball team.
