Tartans Fall 2-0 to Montclair State

(PITTSBURGH, Pa.) - The Carnegie Mellon University men's soccer team hosted Montclair State University on Saturday, September 14 with the visiting Red Hawks earning a 2-0 win. The Tartans are now 3-2-1 overall.

Inside the Box Score

  • The Tartans had three shots on goal for the game with first year goalkeeper Alexander Velasquez stopping them all.
  • The Red Hawks went up 1-0 with a goal by Samuel Epitime in the 35th minute after he checked into the center of the 18-yard box and received a forward pass from Anthony Viola. Epitime then slotted the shot around junior William Burger.
  • Less than three minutes into the second half Epitime put the Red Hawks up 2-0 after settling a diagonal cross from Osbin Mendez and volleying it to the left corner.
  • Burger finished with five saves in the game.
  • Graduate student Robert Lloyd had two of the Tartans' shots on goal.
