Tartans Start Year at Pitt Relays

(PITTSBURGH, Pa.) - The Carnegie Mellon University men's swimming team opened the 2021-2022 season at the University of Pittsburgh for the Pitt Relays on Saturday, October 2.

The 200-yard medley relay kicked off the meet with the group of freshman Kevin Kyi, freshman Elmer Weng (Naperville, Ill. / Waubonsie Valley), junior Alex Chiu (Sewell, N.J. / Washington Township), and junior Matthew Nagler (West Chicago, Ill. / St. Charles East) touching fourth to lead seven groups of Tartans. The relay finished in 1:35.17.

The 200-yard freestyle relay of junior Yousef Hassen (Redlands, Calif. / Redlands), junior Erik Feldmann (Yakima, Wash. / West Valley), Nagler, and fifth-year senior Justin Britton (Falls Church, Va. / George Mason) closed the meet with a victory in a time of 1:24.09.

The Tartans will host in intrasquad meet on Saturday, October 9 during Family Weekend and then travel to Kenyon College for the Kenyon Relays on Saturday, October 16.
