Tartans Host Time Trials Meet

(PITTSBURGH, Pa.) - The Carnegie Mellon University men's swimming and diving team hosted a time trails meet on Saturday, January 18.
Top Performances
- Sophomore Jacob Quan took first place in the 500-yard freestyle with a time of 4:46.66.
- Sophomore Brayden Morford finished first with a time of 1:52.55 in the 200-yard IM, the 100-yard breaststroke in 56.28, and the 200-yard backstroke in 1:55.54.
- Freshman Matthew Peitler took first with a time of 20.73 in the 50-yard freestyle.
- Sophomore Akira van de Groenendaal took first place with a time of 4:19.03 in the 400-yard IM.
- Sophomore Paul Deynega took first in the 100-yard butterfly with a time of 53.36 with senior James Pascale and sophomore Staten Rector finishing in 55.20 and 55.54.
- Sophomore Cole Venters finished first in the 200-yard freestyle with a time of 1:44.10.
- Freshman Matvey Malinovski took first with a time of 51.20 in the 100-yard backstroke.
- Peitler and Quan took first and second in the 100-yard freestyle with times of 45.72 and 48.26.
- Senior Christian Lanuza took first in the 200-yard breaststroke with a time of 2:09.65.
- Graduate student Santiago Gomez took first in the 200-yard butterfly with a time of 1:57.12.
