Tartans Earn More Hardware on Day 2 of NCAA Championships

(GREENSBORO, N.C.) - The Carnegie Mellon University men's swimming and diving team opened the 2025 NCAA Division III Swimming and Diving Championships with two podium finishes at the Greensboro Aquatic Center in Greensboro, North Carolina, on Thursday, March 20. The Tartans are in sixth place with 105 points while Denison leads with 166 points.

Sophomore Brayden Morford placed fourth in the 100-yard butterfly after touching in 46.58.

The 200-yard freestyle relay also placed fourth behind the swims from Morford, freshman Matthew Peitler, graduate student Frank Jones, and junior Arnav Deshpande who finished in 1:19.51 to top the school record set earlier this year.

Competition continues on Friday with the Tartans swimming in the 200-yard medley relay, 100-yard backstroke, and the 100-yard breaststroke.
