(ROCHESTER, N.Y.) – Three Carnegie Mellon University men's tennis players were honored by the University Athletic Association (UAA) coaches on Tuesday with recognition on the 2023 UAA Men's Tennis All-Association Team. Senior Matthew Poh received second-team accolades for his play at fourth singles with the Tartans' top doubles team of junior Derek Wong and freshman Akshay Joshi joining Poh on the second squad. Joshi was also recognized as honorable mention for fifth singles.

After being honored for his doubles play last season, Poh recorded 11 wins this season in singles play including a mark of 5-4 at the four spot. He also advanced to the quarterfinals of the ITA Southeast Regional in the fall.

The doubles tandem of Wong and Joshi ended the season with an overall mark of 9-7 and a 3-1 record playing in the top spot. The duo's three wins at first doubles all came during the UAA Championship. The tandem opened the tournament with an 8-6 win over the duo from ninth-ranked Chicago and recorded two additional 8-6 victories against NYU and Brandeis.

Joshi went 10-9 overall this season in singles play while posting a mark of 5-2 at the five spot along with a record of 2-0 at the UAA Championship.
