Men's Tennis Starts Season at Denison Invitational

(GRANVILLE) - The Carnegie Mellon University men's tennis team opened its season over the weekend at the Denison Invitational. Competing alongside the Tartans were Denison, Kenyon, Chicago, Washington & Lee, Case Western Reserve and Northwestern Ohio.

Singles Results

  • The Tartans finished the weekend picking up four wins in singles play.
  • Freshman Will Secord won in straoght sets over Ryan Patrick of Denison.
  • Classmate Alex Feies won over W&L's Evan Erb also in straight sets.
  • Freshman Brendan Hendrata and freshman Fernando Limon each won a match. Hendrata got his win over Matthew Liew of Chicago while Limon won over Justin Prochnow of Case Western Reserve.

Double Results

  • Senior Chaitanya Irkar partnered with Chavez to collect a 6-3 win over the tandem from W&L.
  • The freshman duo of Feies and Chavez won 7-6 over a Dension pair.
