Tartans Host Invitational, Win 15 Singles Matches
(PITTSBURGH, Pa.) – The Carnegie Mellon men's tennis team hosted its annual invitational over the weekend. The Tartans competed against Duquesne University, Bucknell University and Edinboro University.
Highlights of Singles Play
- The Tartans won 15 out of the 28 singles matches they competed in.
- Freshman Alex Feies won all three of the singles matches he competed in. He defeated both Bucknell and Edinboro with scores of 6-2, 6-1.
- Freshman Fernando Limon also won all three singles matches as well. He won all three matches in two sets.
- Sophomore Raghav Jangbahadur won against both Duquesne and Edinboro.
- Sophomore Daniel Kong also won two matches.
Highlights of Doubles Play
- The Tartans won 8 out of 14 doubles matches that they competed in.
- Junior Akshay Joshi and Feies won all three doubles matches they competed in against Bucknell, Edinboro, and Duquesne.
- Kong won two doubles matches with two different partners, Limon and freshman Will Secord.
- Secord also won two doubles matches. Along with freshman Brendan Hendrata, he beat Edinboro 6-4.
