Feies Wins ITA Southeast Regional Singles Crown

(FREDERICKSBURG, Va.) - Freshman Alex Feies is the 2024 ITA Southeast Regional Singles Champion after two victories on Sunday, September 29 at the ITA Southeast Regional event hosted by the University of Mary Washington.

Feies and sophomore teammate Raghav Jangbahadur each played in the semifinal round with Feies advancing to the championship final and Jangbahadur just missing the same result.

Feies won his semifinal match by a 6-1, 6-2 score over the one seed of Michael Melnikov of Swarthmore College. Jangbahadur, last year's singles champion, dropped a 6-0, 7-6(6) match to Chakor Sankaran Rajendra of Johns Hopkins University.

In the final, Feies took care of business with a 6-3, 6-0 win against Sankaran Rajendra.

Feies is the second straight freshman to win the single title for the Tartans and third since 2016, joining Jangbahadur and Michael Rozenvasser as champions. The title is also the ninth in program history.
