Feies Ends Run in Semifinals at ITA Cup

(ROME, Ga) – Freshman Alex Feies of the Carnegie Mellon University men's tennis team traveled to Berry College in Rome, Georgia to compete in the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Cup over the weekend. Feies went 2-1 and advanced to the semifinals.

Feies started the event with a 6-1, 6-3 victory over Gage Gohl of Gustavus Adolphus College. He then faced second seeded Vuc Vuksanovic of Tufts University and one a three-set match by the scores of 2-6, 7-6 (9), and 6-2 to advance to the semifinals.

In the semifinals Feies run was halted with a three-set setback to fourth seed Ethan Green of Denison University falling 6-4, 3-6, and 6-1.

That concludes play for the men's tennis team for the fall season with their next competition scheduled for February 1 with a dual match against Allegheny College.
