#21 Tartans Open Dual Season with a 6-1 Victory Over Allegheny

(PITTSBURGH, Pa.) – The 21st-ranked Carnegie Mellon University men's tennis team opened its dual state with a 6-1 win over Allegheny College on Saturday. The Tartans are now 1-0 while Allegheny is 3-4.
How it Happened:
- The Tartans swept doubles play to take the point heading into singles.
- The top tandem of freshman Alex Feies and junior Akshay Joshi won 6-1 followed with a 6-2 win by the freshmen duo of Brendan Hendrata and Will Secord at the third spot.
- Sophomores Jonathan Gu and Theodore Gershon teamed up and won 6-4 at second double.
- Feies took the first point of singles with a straight set win by the scores of 6-0, 6-0.
- At four singles, Hendrata won 6-1, 6-4 to make the score 3-0 before freshman Braden Chavez sealed the match with a 6-3, 6-2 victory at six singles.

- The Tartans will travel to Oberlin, Ohio on Saturday, February 8 to play a pair of matches. The Cardinal Gray will play Oberlin at 10 a.m. followed by a 2 p.m. match against Wooster.
