#26 Tartans Win a 4-3 Battle at #11 Trinity (TX)

(SAN ANTONIO, Texas) – The 26th-ranked Carnegie Mellon University men's tennis team traveled to San Antonio, Texas on Wednesday to play 11th-ranked Trinity University and won a 4-3 match. The Tartans are now 5-4 while the Tigers are 7-3.

How it Happened:

  • Trinity earned the doubles point sweeping the three matches by the scores of 6-3, 7-6 (4) and 6-3.
  • After the Tigers grabbed the first point in singles, sophomore Daniel Kong took the first point for the Tartans with a 6-3, 6-1 win at four.
  • The score got tied at 2-all when sophomore Raghav Jangbahadur won 6-4, 6-2 at the two spot.
  • Trinity retook the lead with a win at six singles, but freshman Alex Feies knotted the score at 3-all with a three-set victory at the top spot winning by the scores of 4-6, 6-2, 6-3.
  • The deciding point came down to five singles where freshman Takeshi Koey took the first set 6-4 before he dropped the second set by the identical score but then won set three 6-2 to seal the victory for the Tartans.
