#22 Tartans Stopped by #2 UChicago

(SANDUSKY, Ohio) – The 22nd-ranked Carnegie Mellon University men's tennis team faced the second-ranked University of Chicago on Saturday. The Tartans won doubles, but eventually fell to the Maroons after only taking one singles match. This puts the Tartans at 7-5 overall, while the Maroons are at 14-2.
How it Happened
- The Tartans won two of the three doubles matches to earn the team point. Junior Akshay Joshi and freshman Takeshi Koey won second singles 6-3, and sophomore Daniel Kong and freshman Alex Feies came on top in third doubles, recording a 6-3 decision.
- The Maroons gained momentum during the singles matches, sweeping first through fifth singles to put the score at 5-1 and secured the victory.
- Koey won sixth singles 6-1, 6-4 gaining the second point for the Tartans.
