Tartans Compete at Raider Tune-Up

(ALLIANCE, Ohio) - The Carnegie Mellon University men's track and field team competed at the unscored Raider Tune-Up on Saturday hosted by the University of Mount Union. The Tartans claimed five top spots on the day.

Junior Elijah Sech (San Clemente, Calif. / San Clemente) won the mile run with a career-best time of 4:22.20. Sophomore David Durdaller (Hewlett, N.Y. / George W. Hewlett) also turned in a top finish and career-best time in the 3,000-meter run when he crossed in 8:50.87.

Freshman Aleksei Seletskiy (Palo Alto, Calif. / Palo Alto) ran the 800-meter run for the first time in his collegiate career and won the event with a time of 1:55.86.

Graduate student Grant Johnson (Wilmette, Ill. / New Trier) won the 400-meter run with a time of 51.83 while junior Alex Halkias (Berlin, Conn. / Berlin) placed first in the 200-meter dash in 22.79.

The Tartans will compete next at the UAA Championships hosted by Case Western Reserve University on Saturday, February 26.
