Tartans Win Three Events to Open Outdoor Season at West Virginia Pushkin Invitational

(MORGANTOWN, W.Va.) – The Carnegie Mellon University men's track and field team opened its outdoor season at the West Virginia Pushkin Invitational on Friday and Saturday.
Top Performances in the Field
- Senior Sebastian Sanso won the high jump clearing the bar at 1.88 meters.
- In the pole vault, sophomore Solomon Glavach and freshman Lucas Knappenberger both cleared the bar at 4.40 meters with Glavach taking second and Knappenberger third on a judges decision. Freshman Adi Verma placed fourth clearing at 4.25 meters and classmate James Brewer took eighth clearing the bar at 3.80 meters.
- A sixth place showing in the shot put by junior Johnathan Crawshaw had him marking at 13.72 meters.
- Senior Nathaniel Deyak took sixth in the hammer throw with a toss of 42.05 meters.
Top Performances on the Track
- The Tartans 4x100-meter relay team of sophomore Matthew Yu, junior Bennett Wong, freshman Victor Ruhland and freshman Devin Chang crossed first with a time of 42.90.
- Sophomore Philip Ma won the 400-meter hurdles after he crossed in 57.76.
- Senior Micah Nowlin placed seventh in the 110-meter hurdles after he crossed in 17.69 seconds.
- Freshman Ryan Joyce crossed in 51.62 seconds to take seventh in the 400-meter run.
