Connelly Named Mid-Atlantic Region Coach of the Year

(NEW ORLEANS, La.) - Carnegie Mellon University head men's cross country coach Tim Connelly was named NCAA Division III Mid-Atlantic Region Coach of the Year for the 2024 collegiate season by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association. It marks the fifth time he has received the honor in the last six seasons and it comes following leading the Tartans to their sixth consecutive regional title and ninth in school history.
Carnegie Mellon won its regional meet by placing five runners in the top 15 with all seven runners finishing in the top 25, as they all garnered Mid-Atlantic All-Region honors. With the top finish, the Cardinal and Gray received the automatic bid to the 2024 NCAA Championships. This will mark Carnegie Mellon's 29th appearance and 10th straight competing at the championship race.
The Tartans will compete at the NCAA Division III Men's and Women's Cross Country Championships which will be held at LaVern Gibson Championship Cross Country Course at the Wabash Valley Family Sports Center in Terre Haute, Indiana, on Saturday, November 23 with the men's race set to begin at 12:00 p.m.
