Faille Honored as UAA Softball Player of the Week

(ROCHESTER, N.Y.) - Carnegie Mellon University softball junior Summer Faille (Thousand Oaks, Calif./Westlake) was honored by the University Athletic Association (UAA) as the UAA Softball Player of the Week for her performance during the opening week of the season for the Tartans.

Faille had four extra bases hits in 12 at bats during a 3-1 week for the Tartans. The left field compiled a .583 hitting percentage and 1.250 slugging percentage to lead the team while her slugging percentage led the UAA. She recorded a triple and a home run in the Tartans 18-0 game two win at Pitt-Greensburg on the opening day of the season. Faille tallied a double, a triple, and a home run, all knocking in 7 RBIs with a .750 hitting percentage in the opening day doubleheader sweep. Her two triples and one home run for the week equal her total amount of triples and home runs in 38 games played her first season.

The team returns to action on Friday, March 26 against Penn State Behrend at home for a doubleheader beginning at 3:30 p.m.
