Diamond Named UAA Hitter of the Week

(ROCHESTER, N.Y.) - Carnegie Mellon University freshman Reagan Diamond has been named the University Athletic Association (UAA) Softball Hitter of the Week for her performance during a 3-1 weekend for the Tartans.

Diamond hit .692 for the 3-1 week that included a home sweep against the University of Mount Union. Diamond started the weekend with a 2-for-4 appearance with one RBI in a 10-2 win at Kenyon. She was then 1-for-3 in the second game, a 4-3 loss to the Owls. On Sunday, Diamond led the Tartans, as she batted 1.000 with six hits in six at bats, three coming in each game. In game one against the Raiders, Diamond had a double, an RBI, and a run scored, recording the final RBI in a 5-3 win. In game two, the freshman catcher had two RBIs and scored a run in the 10-9 win. Additionally, Diamond had an on base percentage of .714 and a slugging percentage of .769.

The Tartans return to action on Tuesday, March 25 at Chatham University.
