Inside The Box Score

  • The game-winner came off the foot of sophomore defensive back Alana Frederick with a minute and eight seconds to go in the first half. Frederick's corner kick from the left side curled in and over the fingertips of Gabby Sabatier at the center of the frame.
  • Sabatier had made three saves up until that point with shots on goal coming from juniors Bre Valentovish and Cecelia Dieterich and sophomore Emma Shirzad.
  • Senior Olivia Brand made a first-half save and earned the win after playing 77 minutes and 35 seconds.
  • Freshman Abby O'Connor entered the contest for Brand and kept the clean sheet with a save in the final 35 seconds of the contest.
  • In the first minute of the second half, senior Alex Adams was fouled just outside the box by Sabatier with the referee issuing a red card to Sabatier for a foul as the last defender.
  • With the Yellowjackets playing down a player the remainder of the game, the Tartans fired off three more shots on goal, including one off the ensuing free kick by Dieterich that was pushed off the crossbar by Grace Kuropatkin, Sabatier's replacement.
  • After a corner kick, sophomore Maria Askounis had a shot kicked away by a defender inside the six-yard box and Dieterich's follow-up was swallowed up by Kuropatkin at the post.
