Three Tartans Invited to NCAA Women's Individual Championships

(INDIANAPOLIS, Ind.) – Junior Danna Taylor along with sophomores Sarah Yang and Crystal Zhou have been selected to play for the NCAA Division III Women's Individual Championships to be held at the USTA National Campus in Orlando, Florida, May 19-22. The championships are being hosted by the United States Tennis Association, Oglethorpe University and the Greater Orlando Sports Commission.

Taylor and Yang were selected to the singles bracket while Taylor will also pair with Zhou in the doubles bracket. It marks the second straight season that Yang will appear at the individual championships with Taylor also making her second appearance, as she played in the 2019 championships in both the singles and doubles bracket.

Yang has a singles record of 21-7 including an 13-4 mark in the first position this year. Yang also played in the ITA Cup Division III National Singles Championship in the fall where she advanced to the consolation finals after posting a 2-1 record,

Taylor will enter play in the singles bracket of the championships with an overall mark of 18-5, including an 11-1 record at second singles for the Tartans. In 2019, Taylor advanced to the round of 16 at the championships.

As a doubles tandem, Taylor and Zhou have 27-9 record and won the ITA Southeast Doubles Regional Championship and then advanced to the quarterfinals at the ITA Cup.

The bracket for the individual championships will be released on May 18 but not before 1:00 p.m. Eastern time.
