Tartans Open Season with Home Invitational

(PITTSBURGH, Pa.) – The Carnegie Mellon University women's tennis team hosted Division II Mercyhurst University and Slippery Rock University on Saturday, September 2 to open the season.

Doubles Results

• The Tartans won six of 12 matches.
• Graduate student Sophia Ho won two matches with two different partners.
• Junior Crystal Zhou also won two matches with two different partners.
• Freshman Elaine Qian started her Carnegie Mellon career with two wins, partnering with sophomore Simran Bedi to win 7-5 and sophomore Anika Joshi to win 7-5.

Singles Results

• The Tartans won four singles matches for the day.
• Junior Zoe Angell and Ho each won by 8-4 scores.
• Sophomore Anna Chow won 8-6 and freshman Ainika Hou won 8-2.

The Tartans will compete in the Kenyon College Invitational on September 9-10.
